Fundations Readers are carefully curated collections of 95% or more decodable books, tightly aligned to the Fundations Scope and Sequence.
Overview
Practice is critical to acquiring foundational literacy skills. Fundations Readers reinforce taught phonics and word structure skills, providing opportunities for students to improve fluency and automaticity, whether they’re working in small groups, in centers, or independently.
The Readers contain engaging and captivating artwork. Narrative texts feature full-page, detailed illustrations that reflect a range of life experiences. Informational texts include vivid photographs to support students' comprehension, help develop understanding, and spark curiosity about the world around them.
Fundations Readers are available for Levels K, 1, and 2.
Fundations® Backpack Readers
Support every student’s reading journey beyond the classroom with Fundations® Backpack Readers. Featuring the same 95% or more decodable text, these black-and-white books and interactive tools provide additional reading practice, boost confidence, and reinforce classroom learning to build fluency. Each set includes engaging texts, a book log, family letters, and a reading buddy—turning at-home reading into a fun, shared experience that encourages family involvement and fosters a lifelong love of reading.
